volume 56: onward and upward
It’s been three years since the pandemic has changed the way we view “normal.” coming back this year, we were all looking forward to a sense of normalcy, meeting friends old and new, and returning to the activities we love. And though things still remain uncertain, we’re found ourselves moving onward and upward - together.
Operations
The 2023 The Spirit Volume 56 was published by Balfour Yearbooks in Dallas, Texas at 1550 W. Mockingbird Lane with a press run of 888 copies. The 320 page full-color book was printed on 100# Polar Bear Matte paper. The price of the book was $55.00 pre-sale. Overrun copies were sold for $75.00. Grad-Ads were also sold to senior families with prices ranging from $20 to $160. The adviser was Lori Hanson. The sales representative was Kerri Smead. The account executive was Catherine Simoneaux. Yuen Lui Photography photographed the portraits and select seniors submitted their own portraits.
Production
The book was put together by the yearbook club staff members. Software programs used for the book were Balfour Encore, Adobe Creative Suite, and Canva on Dell computers.
Fonts
The headline font is Nexa Rust Sans. The subhead font is Nexa Rust Script. Copy is Proxima Nova Regular 10pt. Caption headlines are Nexa Rust Sans 8pt and Photo-Bys are Proxima Nova Regular 6pt.
Colors
The following colors were used to design this publication: Medium Persian Blue, Picton Blue, Baby Blue Eyes, Skobeloff Green, Dark Bronze Coin, and Gamboge Orange Brown.
